Spanish recap on Instagram 👍

A lightening wizz round the things from Spain which I spread out whilst unpacking which remind me how very colourful it is there! They all look so bright in this British subdued stormy light and room. This trip, my boards were all larger (30×40 cms or 30x60cms) as I have begun to think that although a traditional smaller board is easier (and lighter!) to transport (lug round in a backpack🙄) it makes my oil work much tighter than I’d like. I’ve lots of plans with these pieces and sketches…enlarging….new paintings from references and sketches….bigger watercolours…and some ink work. Luckily I’ve some quiet time now to think about it all. I’ve made a longer film as well which I can post another day, with more from my A3 #moleskine sketchbook which I also enjoyed using a great deal. Again the scale, which has always figured in my work, seemed important in this recent stuff. #Spain #Galicia #Asturias #Cantabria #rocks #beaches #romanarchitecture #aquaduct #lake #mountains #vanlife
