I take commissions in the all mediums that you see on my website.
I especially love buildings, boats, heritage sites, landscape, cityscape, coast….and lots of other things. If you have something or somewhere special to remember drop me a line!
As a guide and starting point for commission costs.….
A work in ink 12X40cms (traditionally framed 31X58cms total cost) £150-300
A work in ink 21X58cms (traditionally framed 39X76cms total cost) £250-400
A work in ink 76X56cms (a single sheet of Saunders Waterford watercolour paper unframed) £250-400.
A work in ink (double sheet of Saunders Waterford watercolour paper unframed) 56X150cms if arranged long, or 76X110cms if arranged wide, £500-700
Larger ink works possible too.
My watercolour work is often based on sketchbook sizes….but other sizes and shapes are possible too.
A work in watercolour 12X40cms (traditionally framed 31X58cms total cost) £225-350
A work in watercolour 21X58cms (traditionally framed 39X76cms total cost) £350-450
(I will work smaller scale in ink and watercolour prices are then lower and larger works more but this gives a guide)
Plein air oil works approximately range from £30-50 (12X16cms), to (20X30cms) £260-300 to £350-450 (20X40cms) and I will do larger sizes too…my largest to date 100cmsX200cms (unframed dimensions)
When commissioning, a contract guides our discussion and helps to plan the process, expectations and time scales with an upfront non refundable deposit required to secure the commission, then the balance is paid on reciept – full email contact with photographs, will be maintained throughout the commissioning process. I can keep secrets and will not Blog commissioned work so as to “save the surprise.”
NB. I work mostly from life and onsite, and I am very happy to travel, however some reasonable additional travel and accommodation costs will need to be added to some commission quotes.
Framing is an additional cost, although I have an excellent framer who is very sensibly priced and will provide a quote. Traditional glass or non reflective glass will vary the price of framing. I do not mark up on his framing costs. You can of course arrange for your own framing which is a consideration for overseas buyers as it makes the package lighter to send! Delivery charges are additional but negotiable on each commission.
Many thanks for looking at my work!
