What a full on day yesterday at #windsorpleinair Great to meet so many lovely friendly #artists. Sadly I am unable to make the PV @orielynysmon this evening for the #kyffinwilliams #drawingprize2018 and see these two pieces by me on the wall. Good luck fellow exhibitors! #drawing #ink #Bath #thecircusbath #Fareham #boats #LondonPlaneTree
#dog #drawing #sketches #ink and #pencil of my #jackrussel studio assistants or should that be #models ? I did quite a few recently but these are the ones suitable for a square crop on Instagram.
Thank you to #FairOakArtAndCraftSociety for inviting me to #demonstrate on Wednesday evening using #ink I used my #sketchbook #drawings from my recent trip to #Snowdonia and walk up the #mountain routes of #GlyderFach #GlyderFawr #Tryfan #Eryri #YrWyddfa #BritPleinAir #watercolour #Wales and used my favourite #HPpaper #SaundersWaterford @StCuthbertsMill from my favourite #sketchbooks @moleskine
The boats are all safely out of the harbour for the winter months in Aberaeron, Ceredigion.
I’m not a sailor in anyway, or a marine artist – I just like the shape of boats. This is a 2 page drawing, image aprox 142cm X 47cm. It’s very hard to take a ‘non grey’ photograph of a drawing, so this is a bit dull – it’s much brighter in real life.
Little A6 sketchbook and iPad to give you an idea of scale, and carpet background – they are too large for working on anywhere but the floor!
I’m looking forward to my Aberaeron exhibition (dates very soon) and hope to have lots of new Aberaeron pieces to show you all then.
Yesterday’s speed sketches that I made on the way to London by train, on a bag that had contained lemon cake. I’m very grateful to have had a chance to speak with Sara Dudman , judge from the Sunday Times watercolour competition last evening, and lucky to have had some great advice. Thank you Sara. It was a unique experience and I hope just the first time I exhibit in the Mall Galleries.
And here’s a new zigzag sketchbook I made with lovely Saunders Waterford paper in a recycled/up-cycled/reused Moleskine cover. The pages slide out so I can refill it once I’ve filled the book. Special handbag A6 sized! Can’t wait to use it.
Three of my ink drawings are in the mix, and I am looking forward to taking part in this exhibition in Anglesey, Wales, which celebrates and promotes, the importance of drawing. Looking forward to meeting the other exhibitors and seeing their work 🙂
A few hours of sketching on the beach near Lulworth Cove in Dorset – hot and sunny with umbrellas for cooling dogs!
Today I made some very small things for an upcoming event #portsfest2015 a much larger thing for something else!
Another great day of weather with my sketchbook.
Tried again at the creek. The tide was good but the weather bad! Couldn’t work for long……,
