It really was quite dark by the time I finished this. Hello to the Instagram Live visitors....sorry I’m so late posting this but it has rained here all morning and I wanted a photo of the finished thing. The sundown times have been really pretty recently and yesterday I managed to get out at the right time on a good one. Lucky me 🥰 As usual it’s the field patterns and striped chalk track that caught me eye compositionally. Oil paint on board 30x60cms

I recently made my first two guides 📖 on Instagram, with one being My Favourite Places to Paint in Spain. Well it turns out these guides are derived from posts...and as I had only ever posted this as a Story I couldn’t add it. So here is a Summer plein air evening paint in Salamanca as the sun set. Not a glamorous spot - just a car park where you can overnight officially. The sky colours were in amazing bands, with twinkly lights poking through the trees. The last shot is one of me in action through the van bug 🦟screen door. Now....I’m off to add this to my guide.....😉

Probably my favourite thing (at the moment) from the fig paintings this week. I just passed through the room in the dull half light of a wet afternoon - and decided to pause the housekeeping admin to post a picture of it. Aren’t the fig ‘insides’ colours beautiful, and the subtle changes in tone where it falls into shadows rich.
