The weather has been so warm today – and the sun bright and casting long shadows by the time I started these. Then at the last few moments before the sun went down the field became very brightly orange. This is the last very quick watercolour impression of how they seemed to glow against …
Reworking an oil plein air sketch on cardboard, of the beach and harbour wall in Aberaeron, West Wales, on to board. The view from a similar spot. Isn’t it odd how flat a photo makes everything look? And how lovely and sunny it was – it was actually a very cold morning indeed! …

Lovely Motisfont Abbey NT today. The light was very good but I felt it was a struggle to get the shadows to recede and the brights to shine. I arrived just following the installation of a large sculpture of a figure with its head buried in in the earth! I wonder who made it? …
Three of my ink drawings are in the mix, and I am looking forward to taking part in this exhibition in Anglesey, Wales, which celebrates and promotes, the importance of drawing. Looking forward to meeting the other exhibitors and seeing their work 🙂
